My gelding struggles with maintaining consistent contact, so this bit is great as it provides more direct contact due to its fixed cheek design. This bit has given us quicker direct communication and the slight leverage has been great to encourage flexion. I love that this bit includes a copper lozenge to encourage salivation.

Rated 5 out of 5 by UpstateGal from Works as I'd hoped My STB mare has a pretty severe parrot mouth and thus finding the proper bit is not an easy task. I have tried several bits on her without success which was becoming quite costly so I look for good quality at a reasonable price... this bit fits both to the T. I used to ride her in a Dr Bristol full cheek but wanted to get away from the full cheek so this looked like a good alternative and it is. She still gets a bit of lateral guidance while the lozenge makes her more willing to give to the bit. She still prefers her hackamore but overall is very happy with this bit and it gives me the extra sense of security while introducing her to trail riding outside the arena.

The bit feels high quality and is holding up well to use even at a fraction of the price of a lot of other options on the market. My only mild complaint was that it is a drop shipped item which means it took longer to ship and be delivered, but the wait was well worth it. My gelding is very happy in this bit which is the most important thing! Thanks Smartpak!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Ben7C from Just what I was hoping for My new horse has a tendency to brace against the bit during dressage when a couple different variables are in play and the single jointed D-ring that we were using before seemed to only worsen the problem. After doing a bit of research, my teacher recommended I try this one out. From the very first time I tried it, he has been much more supple in this bit and I feel like we have both been more comfortable with it. The price seems perfectly reasonable and I was very happy with my purchase, I would definitely recommend for others to try.
