Why We Love This
These hoof boots feature a specially designed pad of thermoplastic polyurethane that absorbs shock and reduces strain on muscles and tendons. They may help maintain mobility in ageing horses, and may help reduce arthritis progression and extend their active years. Water-resistant gaiters prevent rubbing, while the open design provides excellent ventilation and drainage. Each Scoot Boot TheraRide comes with highly shock-absorbing and long-lasting therapy pad that is uniquely situated in a secure cavity. As a result, the pad itself is not subjected to the normal forces that are seen in all other hoof boots. This feature, combined with the robust material of the therapy pad, ensures huge cost savings on pad replacements. Each TheraRide boot comes with bulb straps and mud straps attached. These provide a high level of adjustability.
Included with each pair of Scoot Boot TheraRide boots:
- Two Bulb Straps and two Mud Straps for a secure, customized fit
- Bulb Strap Extenders to fit high or underrun heels perfectly
- Scoot Boot Bulb Strap Gaiter to prevent chafing and add extra comfort on long rides
- Multiple adjustment settings for heel bulbs, screws, and straps to ensure a precise, adaptable fit
- Two Lightweight Standard Pads for riding horses without hoof issues
- Two Therapy Pads
There are two types of pads included with the TheraRide boots:
Therapy Pads (TPU) – This is the yellow honeycomb pad that comes fitted with your boot and is the main pad designed for this product. This pad has a high level of shock absorption and is extremely durable. It can be used for rehabilitation and riding including transitioning from metal shoes to barefoot, thin soles, damaged soles due to previous laminitic events, bruised soles, navicular syndrome, and pedal osteitis.
Standard Pads (EVA) – The standard pad in the accessory bag is designed for comfort and light riding. It is not intended for long-term use or long-distance riding. These pads are not as durable as the therapy pad due to the nature of the material (EVA) and will compress after use, but they should return to their initial size when rested. These can also be used in conjunction with any custom pad.
