Runs Small
Great quality & beautiful martingale, but runs very small. I originated purchased cob size for my large pony, but had to exchange for full size.

Excellent for my purposes
This review is for anyone looking for a martingale with a smaller neck size around but with a neck the length of a giraffe. All those reviews that complain that the strap from girth to nose is too short are probably right for the normal horse. But this was the only martingale I could find that was long enough to properly reach (and we've got it almost to the end) and still fit his neck around. He's a small horse and I bought an over-size. The color is very red but it has oil on it now and is darkening. Probably will be a different color than the bridle (different brand) but close enough. Very stiff out of the store.

Nice martingale but difficulty with sizing
This seems like it will be a decent martingale - hopefully it will oil up nicely. I want one to match the Rodrigo bridle that I bought and so will try to make it work. The full size fits my small-ish warmblood fairly well around the neck, though it's still on the short side, while the strap from girth to noseband is very long. I'm going to shorten it by punching holes and hope it works out. I tried a cob size, which was a good length from girth to nose but way too short around the neck...

poorly sized
I bought this martingale to coordinate with the Pessoa wide noseband bridle, and was so disappointed because of its poor sizing. In the horse size, I found the neckstrap to be small (like cob-sized), and the strap that goes from the girth to the noseband to be over-sized (for my standard 16.3h TB). The leather does perfectly match the quality bridle.

Great Martingale
I use this martingale everyday for schooling and also for show. It's lasted me 2.5 years and still going strong, no signs of wear and tear yet. Oiled nicely, looks great in the show ring, great price.

Didn't fit well
I returned this martingale after the "horse size" was way too big for my 16.1 Ottb
The leather felt cheap and looked similar to made in India strap goods I've seen

Looks great!
I love the way this martingale looks and the leather is amazing. It looks like a 200-300$ martingale and I have received tons of compliments on it.
The only problem is if you are actually using it to keep your horses head down at times it will stretch tons. I bought a horse size for my 16.3-17h warmblood with a good length neck. Since it was his first summer showing and he already has a higher set neck it was set short enough to restrict his head height when necessary. This caused the martingale to stretch and resulted in me having to punch 4 or 5 extra holes! So order down if you actually need a martingale to serve its purpose!

Very good martingale esp. for the money
I really really like this martingale. I got a horse size for my 16.1 appendix gelding and it fits him nicely. Maybe just the slightest bit stiff when you first get it, but after each oiling it just gets softer and softer! Mine has now been oiled maybe 4 times and is butter soft. Very nice. Matches the rodrigo bridle and my Pessoa A/O Saddle perfectly! A+
