Rated 3 out of 5 by NF23 from Do not trust the size chart Just bought this coat on Black Friday. Took measurements, compared against the size chart, and ordered. For reference everything else I have purchased from smartpak (sunshirt, breeches, tall boots, helmet, bridle, etc) I have done the same thing and everything has lined up perfectly with the size chart....except this jacket. According to the size chart I needed to order at least a size 10 (I say at least because the bust and hip measurements lined up with the size 10 perfectly, the waist measurement somehow put me towards a 12/14??). I order the size 10 because the size chart is always accurate with Smartpak, even if this is a weird size for me. Jacket got here today and is absolutely gorgeous...and at least 2 sizes too big. I'm not terribly upset, I can get a jacket that's too big tailored fairly easily, but I am surprised at Smartpak's size chart being SO off since all the others are incredibly accurate. I am 4'11; 138# and I wear a 28r in the piper breeches and a S in both piper and ariat sunshirts. My other show jacket is an RJ Classics and its a size 6.

I was very surprised by the quality and fit of this jacket. It's lovely. Yes, it's a bit softer than I prefer but makes up for it with good shoulder pads. Highly recommended for someone looking for a great coat on a budget. I'm 5'4", 128lbs and the 4 is perfect.

The Hadley Performance Show Coat is such a wonderful combination of modern functionality and comfort while still maintaining a traditional, sleek appearance. I even feel comfortable foxhunting in this coat and knowing that I still look appropriate and traditional. On top of that, it is incredibly comfortable while out on a hunt that may even last several hours! The material is so stretchy that no matter what I am doing on a hunt, I almost forget that I am wearing the Hadley Performance Show Coat because it is so unrestrictive. It also fits me very nicely at about 5’10” with average to long arms – wearing a size 12. Between this great design and the reasonable price, I think this coat really stands out compared to some other big name brands. It is SO easy to care for, too. Due to the nature of the fabric, I have often found that I can just wipe dust or mud off the jacket if need be. But if it needs a good cleaning, I can usually just throw it in my washer on delicate cycle and it comes out good as new!

Yes the fabric felt nice (and the gray was the exact color I was looking for ) but this is a very heavy coat. I get really hot in the summer and I know there’s no way I could wear this. I took the shoulder pads out and it’s still fit weird in the shoulders (I bought size 0. I’m 5’2” 110). The cuffs seemed like an unnecessary feature. Unfortunately I’ll have to return.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MegG from Nice Modern Coat I bought this coat for a show, I knew it would be hot and I didn't want to drag my older RJ Classics out of the closet. This coat is very very nice for the price. It fit true to all the measurements and is flattering. I am short so I probably could've sized down and been okay because the fabric is stretchy. Great coat, the optional cuffs were nice since the sleeves were a bit long on me, it made the length more forgiving. Leave the old wool coats behind and snag this mesh-lined beauty.

Rated 5 out of 5 by a123s456 from Incredible! Similar to Charles Ancona... I bought this coat because I grew out of my Charles Ancona and didn't want to buy something super expensive. I bought it on a whim because there were no reviews and I love the Hadley Breeches. The fabric is as stretchy and flexible as my Ancona, is snug in all the right places, and is very lightweight. The shoulder pads are removable which is nice but they are hard to put back into place (think a sports bra with removable cups). It's not as flawless as my Ancona but pretty darn close.
