Rated 5 out of 5 by SmartPaker Olivia from The only leather conditioner I buy! I’ve been a loyal Effax Leather Balsam user for years now, and I have no intentions of stopping anytime soon! I genuinely stopped buying other brands of leather conditioner once I found this one. Not only does it last forever while being affordable, but it really works! I moved to Colorado several years ago, which was a huge change in weather and climate than what I was used to in Massachusetts. Out west, the climate is significantly drier and hotter. Low humidity and being 5,000ft closer to the sun really does take a toll on your leather, but the climate is no match for this conditioner. It glides on so smoothly, and conditions so deeply without leaving your leather feeling saturated and oily. It absorbs within minutes and helps to keep all the tack that I use in excellent hydrated condition. I’ve used this on my black dressage tack, brown jumper tack, tall boots, and even a leather handbag I own. It works on such a large variety of products with beautiful and consistent results. For a perfect clean, I like to pair this with the Effax Leather Combi cleaner. The cleaner paired with the Effax Leather Balsam will leave your tack looking and feeling amazing. I highly recommend the Effax Leather Balsam to anyone looking for a new type of leather conditioner!

It does an amazing job of reviving leather that has gotten beat up from the weather or just hard work. It’s my go to for a deep condition to bring back the suppleness and remove that awful saddle squeak!

Hi, I ride a Sport Tour 1996 Triumph Trophy and use effax on my older Corbin leather seat and passenger back rest but especially all my leather riding gear, boots, and shoes,........ WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!!! I bought my expensive Vanson riding gear (Pants & Armored Jacket) around 2006 new and it was always really stiff and very uncomfortable. A few times I used car seat leather care with little results and then wondered into our huge Tack store here in Camden SC. Started reading labels and bingo, this was my research choice and what a blessing. It takes a LONG time to break in leather riding gear from new and I actually got discouraged and purchased other man made fabrics for more comfortable gear. My leather gear is now getting more flexible with effax and I too will be buying the larger size containers and increasing frequency to hopefully three to four time a year. Note: I reuse a kitchen rubber glove and work effax into all the tight stitched lips but try to avoid the actual stitching; oh, and now it gets used on the car seats too!! My tall Bates leather and Gortex boot in picture were purchased in 2006 and are still drinking each application!

I bought my saddle used, but the lady had probably only ridden in it like 10 times. Everything was super stiff and it hasn't really changed with other oils. I recently started looking around trying to find something to soften it up with. The saddle is also super slippery, probably because of the newness. Well, I used this and conditioned the crap out of it, and I have a new saddle that I love! It smells very nice, exactly like beeswax/honey, and it applies very nicely. If you put a big glob on and rub it in, then set it out in the sun to dry for a bit, it comes out incredible! Then I started using it on everything; stirrup leathers, bridles, boots, everything! It works the same on whatever you put it on!! I will definitely be buying this again when I run out. Definitely get the bigger size... its totally worth it in the long run. I haven't seen the smaller size to compare, but the large will last 1-2 riders for months.

I've been using it for a little under 5 months, and have noticed that not only does the leather look and feel wonderful right after applying it, it stays that way longer in between applications. My saddle, which I purchased used and needed some love, looks and feels like a completely different saddle (in a good way). The jar is easily going to last me at least a year.
