Glad to find an affordable oversized bonnet for my big headed, big eared lesson horse who hates flies! Love the lightweight ears (as light as the mesh ears on Lycra fly masks, but with more structure). Docked a star because I'm disappointed that the front mesh panel is super asymmetrical/uncentered, but think I'll be able to remove it.

Smells and stiff
Disappointed! Black bonnet was stiff and had a very bad chemical smell! The only pro was that Smart Pak has great customer service and allowed me to return.

Runs Small
I bought this in oversize for my 17 hand warmblood and I can hardly squeeze his ears into it. The throat string is also too short to tie. I am returning it because I’m worried about it being uncomfortable and rubbing his ears. It’s a nice bonnet for the price (if it fit).

Very Happy I got this! My girl loves it to! It keeps any annoying bugs out of her ears in style

Not really oversize, material feels cheap
I have a Gypsy-X with a very broad head. This fly veil is not nearly wide enough between the ears for him - the ear openings are pulling on the outside of his ears and making a bad pressure point. The tag inside says X-Full but it doesn't seem any broader than the Horse size fly veils I have for my other horse. Possibly the ears are a bit bigger? Unfortunately, I bought these more than 60 days before the bugs arrived, so the "free sized returns" policy no longer applies. The material of the ears is kind of stiff and cheap feeling, and the crochet is coarse - it's not a sophisticated look, but if it properly fit my horse I wouldn't return it.

good quality, good price
I purchased earplugs and this ear net so if the earplugs came out, they would not get lost. It is softer than I expected and the ear pockets fit my horse's ears perfectly.

As Plain as I Wanted
I bought this fly bonnet because it was the only plain black one that I could find. The ear material is mesh and the bonnet is yarn.
I liked this bonnet when I took it out of the package. The yarn is nice quality and it seems well made. My horse normally doesn't mind fly bonnets but she seemed annoyed by this one at first. I think maybe it comes down on her forehead a little further than others. She kept flipping the end of it up. She got used to it after a little while.
I gave this bonnet four stars because the manufacturer put a tag that sticks up into one of the ears. Not only is that an annoying place to have a tag for the horse, but since the ears are mesh you can see it. I was able to cut the tag back far enough that it didn't touch my horse's ear and you can't see it when the bonnet is on.

Very pretty, fits nicely, but not durable
I purchased this fly bonnet in the navy blue color in horse size for my average-sized OTTB. The color is the perfect shade of navy and it fit my horse very well and looked really good on him. Unfortunately after about 5 uses for light dressage work, the tie string broke during a ride. The loop that you run the long end through completely came off... not sure why, as it wasn't tied very tightly. I will have to see if there is a way to sew it back on or use it without the tie string. It seemed to stay in place under my bridle even though it wasn't fastened. Unfortunately I can't recommend this product due to the lack of durability even though I love the fit and color.

Oversize fit GREAT!
My warmblood has the biggest poll, ears, and forehead you've ever seen. His bridle is custom bc typical oversize fittings are too snug. This fly bonnet fits him like a dream in size "oversize." If you have a huge horse and hard time finding bonnets, you need to try this! The mesh material is a little... odd... so horses with super sensitive ears may not like the lack of flexibility in the mesh. But my horse doesn't mind it.
