great product
Our gelding stopped sweating a couple summers ago. We tried Platinum performance, one AC, and some others. I'm guessing they are good products, but my horse is a picky eater in general, and won't eat anything that tastes like salt...which these all do. So, these were expensive trials. He even won't drink a Guinness :-) so after reading reviews on horses liking the taste of this.... I gave it a try. He loves it ! Has an alfalfa type smell. The customer service people at smart pak are always amazing, but I have to say give life data a call if you have any questions. They were so helpful and knowledgable. This product is working well for sweating, along with acupuncture. The only negative thing with life data products is their packaging. It's vacusealed for freshness, but no zip lock. So smart paks come in handy here.

Worked when all else quit working
When decreased ability to sweat turned to no ability to sweat, and things that had worked in the past no longer had an observable effect, this did! Be sure to balance your horse's ration, adding necessary salt and electrolytes during hot or humid weather; most equine diets are a bit deficient in sodium, etc. ( the product label doesn't mention sodium, salt, etc.as ingredients) Since anhidrosis is a bit of a scientific mystery, I can only hope that the effect is durable.

Seemed to help
My horse had issues sweating this year, but it took me some time to realize that is what was going on. I tried the dark beer and the popular sweat supplement (which worked one summer about 15 years ago - and we never had this issue again till now). That didn't wokr this time. So I did some research and I tried Sweat Formula. We were well into summer though. If you know anything about anhidrosis - you need to start treating it before the heat of summer. We pushed through and we had a couple random days where he had sweat on him at rest! My guy also had some high respiration (this was the initial symptom that I struggled to diagnosis as a sweating issue) and that leveled out and he is breathing much better. Still a bit high with exercise, but he had the almost the whole month of July off, so he's getting back into work, and he's 25! The other thing I noticed is that his coat is not nearly as dry. Early in summer his hair was just so dry and dusty. So while I don't "see" a lot of sweat at rest, I do believe he's functioning better and his coat looks much more normal. We are moving into cooler weather. They say once the night temperature gets below 70, then these horses start sweating better and are more comfortable. I will probably take him off this supplement when we run out and I plan to start it again next year in March. Fingers crossed next summer is better!
