Could not balance the ration without this
Bought this reluctantly, after 2 years of soil and forage testing and using that data for ration-tweaking, and still coming up low in both Ca and P for these easy-keepers on ration balancer, beautiful thick grass and grazing muzzles in this sandy region; using the NRC tables, the ration is now balanced. As an anecdotal plus, arthritis symptoms became almost non-existent in the older ones, the anhydrosis horse improved, and all have better hoof wall. Since they'd been deficient, we started with the higher label dose for 3-4mos, which turned their scant feed ration white and of marginal palatability, then maintained on the lower label dose, which is palatable and (just) balances the ration. Adding this much Ca, P etc. isn't appropriate if the horse's soils, forages and feed provide sufficient Ca, P etc., and there are cheaper and slightly different Ca-P supplements out there, so do the soil/forage analysis and consult your DVM!

Knee fracture recovery
I bought this product for the first time to help our young TB recover from a slab fracture. After 2 1/2 months stall rest while using Duraplex, his recovery is well above the initial projection of 3-4 months.

Fractured pelvis healed well
Initially I did not like this product. I liked the science behind it, but not only did my horse refuse to eat it...she refused to eat anything I fed her after giving her DuraPlex! She eventually began to eat it if covered in something sweet and sticky. I recently learned an easy way to feed this supplement. I add 1 scoop to 3 or 4 cups of beet pulp pellets, add water, stir and allow to soak. I started feeding plain beet pulp first to allow my filly to adjust to eating it. I did add a little of her favorite flavoring the first few times I added the supplement, but now she eagerly eats it with no additions. After 6 months stall rest, then hand walking for a month she is doing well in her small turnout. She is ready to begin riding rehab.

Not palatable
You feed a large amount of this powdered supplement and my horse is not impressed with this being in his feed twice daily. I have not had him on it long enough to know if it is bringing osteo support. I will be trying a different, hopefully more appetizing osteo supplement when I finish this one.

Didn't work
Was getting navicular x rays at 6 month intervals. After being on this for 6 months the bone worsened. Took horse off this supplement and 6 months later xrays showed bone is stable. Not a cheap supplement, I expected it to at least help some, didn't seem to help at all. Horse didn't like the taste either, despite mixing it with her grain. had to mix in extra things she liked just to get her to eat it. Couldn't find a single horse that would get near this stuff
