Easily Digestible Source Of Cool Energy
CoolStance® is a premium quality coconut meal that is dried, baked, and ground to provide a “cool” source of calories for horses. This “cool” source of energy comes from quality protein and Medium Chain Triglycerides (MCT) found in the coconut meal. These fatty acids are readily digestible and also support skin and coat health. Additionally, this highly palatable supplement can be fed dry or as a mash. Finally, CoolStance® is low on the glycemic index as it contains less than 11% Non-Structural Carbohydrates (NSC), making it a great choice for horses that need additional calories but need to be on low sugar diets or tend to exhibit excitable behavior. Please note: days supply will vary depending on the amount being fed.

Waste of money, horses won’t eat it.
None of my horses will eat this.
I read other reviews where the horses have loved this…
But none of mine will eat it, so I am out 50$ for a big bag.
I called smartpak to see if I could get something in exchange, not even necessarily my money back… But the young lady told me that I own it.
And suggested that I try to sell it on Facebook.
So, just fair warning.

Winter life saver!
Coolstance has been a lifesaver for hard keepers during winter months living in Virginia! Not only is my horse a hard keeper OTTB, but he is also on a forage-based diet. Making sure that he gets enough calories during the winter months to maintain a healthy body condition is a must! Several hard keepers, including OTTBs and senior horses, at my barn have transitioned to CoolStance during the winter months for additional fat and cool calories. I love how easy it is to add to my horse’s forage mash making it smell amazing but also highly palatable. CoolStance is very versatile and can be fed soaked or dry. It is definitely a must to have in the feed room!

Offended my picky mare
I was so excited to try this for my picky mare since it smells amazing. Unfortunately she was offended by it and wouldn’t eat it.

I bought this a couple months ago at the suggestion of my trainer, and what I have discovered is my cushingoid pony. Her AC TH levels have dropped into a normal range.

Love this product as a part of a grain-free diet
Love this product as an anti-inflammatory, low carb source of energy for my hard keeper. I have been following Dr. Geoff Tucker's grain-free and anti-inflammatory advice on feeding horses which was an absolute game changer for my thoroughbred that had a sensitive hind gut and poor hooves. SBM, alfalfa and Coolstance keeps my horse's hind gut and hooves healthy - and his hair coat is phenomenal.

Great addition to all forage diets
We supplement with Coolstance for my older quarter horse who is on an all forge diet. This has worked wonders and we swear by it now. When this went in low supply this summer, I drove all over the northeast to find it. Great product, can't recommend enough

Great product for sensitive hard keepers
Before CoolStance, I struggled to keep weight on an ulcer-prone super sensitive high play drive young gelding in light work. Grain and soy aggravated his ulcers, alfalfa turned him into demon spawn, and beet pulp shreds were intolerably yucky. I finally started seeing positive weight gain when I combined Coolstance with beet pulp shreds (which apparently makes beet pulp magically delicious), plus flax and a complete vitamin-mineral supplement in addition to free choice grass hay. I feed him the maximum he will finish twice a day, which turns out to be 3 cups of Coolstance plus 1 quart of soaked/rinsed beet pulp per meal. Over the course of six months or so, he developed a top line for the first time since I've owned him, his attitude has improved, his coat is shiny and dappled, and he spends significantly less of his free time forcing his pasture-mates to play with him endlessly. We ran out once recently due to a shortage and he went on hunger strike, his stomach tucked up, and his positive attitude quickly went down the drain. I'm praying that they never quit making this and that Smartpak never quits carrying it as delivery is so much more convenient than driving over an hour to a "local" feed store.
Other reviews mention a bad smell but I personally think it smells like a delicious coconut dessert. The other horses love it too and are sad that they don't also need extra calories.

Great for Weight
My boss uses this product on all of her horses and has for quite some time. It is absolutely amazing for keeping on their weight while not making them hot which was an issue for some of them. I personally hate the smell but it is a great product and highly recommend!

Helped my horse gain much needed weight
My horse lost a lot of weight after moving to a new barn. To help him gain back the weight and muscle he lost, I decided to give this a try. At first he was a bit reluctant to eat it, but after a week or so, he willingly accepted this in his bucket. Almost immediately I noticed he had an intense shine to his coat, and within a few months over the winter, he managed to gain back all the weight and muscle he lost, plus some! I am really happy with this feed and how much it has helped my horse. At 23 years old, he looks wonderful again!

Great supplement for weight management
I have been feeding CoolStance for several years. I own Arabians, who are known for being easy keepers. I do long distance trail rides, so although my Arabs don't need much food, they do need quality protein, but I don't need hyped-up. hot, horses. CoolStance is just coconut meal, nothing else. Other coconut supplements have flax seed or soy products added. I have found both of these to be inflammatory to my horses and also made them "hot". CoolStance does not make them nutty and gives them the extra protein I was looking for to balance out the diet (they get coastal hay and Triple Crown Balancer Gold). The coconut meal also adds a lot of fat which really helps with coat and hoof health. All of them have beautiful coats and their hooves are healthy and strong. CoolStance is also low carb/sugar, so it is safe for my IR horses. I only feed about 1-2 cups per day, since that is all my horses need to have the energy I need for them and to keep their toplines looking great. I would definitely recommend this product. I do add water to it so it mixes easier with their Balancer. All of my horses enjoy the taste. Since it is not readily available, ordering it from SmartPak with free shipping is a no brainer! I love SmartPak!
