Level 4 of 5 dog food
My chow chow mix has developed severe allergies. Currently, we are 1/2 and half with a fresh raw diet from Stella & Chewy and Wellness Simple Duck kibble. Dog food advisor rates this kibble as a four tier food with only two ingredients being questionable. One of those being tomato pomace which is the left over renderings of soups and ketchup. I don't see this as being a huge downfall compared to corn, wheat or soy ingredients or questionably sourced meat by product. I am glad to see that SmartPak is carrying some better quality foods. I wish they offered some freeze dried options but fingers crossed, that's on the way? We transitioned from LiveSmart Lamb due to his persistent allergies. I feel Wellness Simple is a better quality food also than the SmartPak brand but anything they sell is better than Beneful, Hill's Science Diet or Pedigree. I'm very happy using this dog food as a base for my dog's more raw diet. Some days, I don't have time to prep him chicken, salmon or turkey and kibble. Tossing in an egg and some yogurt with the kibble are much easier to throw together. My pup has only been on this a few weeks but I see a slight improvement in the allergic symptoms.

Great food for dog with allergies
The Wellness Food, Duck Formula has been a great for my chocolate lab who had severe food allergies. Two years ago she lost the hair around her eyes and we even had her tested for lupus. With the Wellness Duck formula her skin problems are gone. I do give her SmartCanine Allergy pills too. It is great to have this food shipped to us.

Be Aware..they have changed this dog food!!
I know I just previously wrote a good review but it was for the DUCK. Wellness has changed the forumula to oatmeal & after being on the food for years & doing great my 13 yr old dog refuses to touch this new food! Now I have no food for him & have to try to find something new for his sensitive stomach. Why didnt Wellness leave a good thing alone!!! Shame on them!!

Thank You Wellness!!
I have a 12 yr. ChowChow that has a terribly sensitive tummy. If he eats anything it messes his stomach up & he gets sick. Found this food & tried it! Wow what a difference! Finally something he can eat & be a happy healthy boy! Hope smartpake continues selling it, cant buy it around where I live. Vet says my boy is the healthiest 12 yr old Chow he has ever seen!

So far so good
I had been feeding my sensitive-stomached, allergy-prone dog the Whitefish and Potato formula for the last 2.5 years because it was the first food to truly work for her, greatly reducing her skin problems and producing no digestive upset. Plus the top quality ingredients and lack of preservatives are of primary importance to me. I only switched her food because while Whitefish has a low mercury content, I began to worry about the effect of feeding fish 2x a day every day- so now she is doing well on the duck formula so far. She's not a picky eater at all, so I can't account for the taste but I suspect it would also be very palatable to a pickier dog.

Excellent food for dogs with allergies
I have three labs of which two have food allergies and Wellness Brand Duck formula is one that all three can eat since the product has no wheat in it or soy, nor peas or other things that they are allergic too.
