Rated 3 out of 5 by Kate from Durability lacking, but wanted to love it Loved it at first, but durability was a miss. I love how much it holds and the length of the string, which would be great for tying around a fence post. I used it in my horse’s stall, since she’s on stall rest. I wanted to slow her down with a new 1.5”-hole haynet— hoping it would keep her occupied longer than our older ones with 2” holes and tears. Unfortunately these holes didn’t really seem smaller, and this one tore within 5 weeks.

Rated 1 out of 5 by BayTB from Flimsy net, only lasted 1 month. I bought 2 of these nets and they were both destroyed within 1 month. I don’t think my horse is tough on nets, we’ve been using them for years. The net is very lightweight, so it just doesn’t hold up. Very disappointed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Cyndi from Disappointing compared to previous ones I purchased these about 2 years ago or so and liked them so much, I decided to buy some more, as mine had seen a lot of use. Boy was I disappointed . The rope designed to hang them was a full 18 inches shorter than the previous ones. Additionally, the knot in the hanging part was barely tied, and came loose on both of them. Very disappointed. Because of the very short rope, these will really not work for most places I hang my hay nets.

Rated 2 out of 5 by NarrowNetter from Narrow and long I wish these nets were wider, so they were easier to stuff. The narrowness of them makes it hard to get a flake inside. For string slow feeds I have had the easiest time with shires but wanted a color that shires doesn’t make, so chose the smartpak one. All my staff dreads stuffing the smartpak net.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Mariana from Not Durable These nets are a very nice size and they are also very light which initially made me very satisfied about them, however they are not durable at all so I was extremely disappointed. It only lasted a month and a half while comparable nets lasted about a year. Because of the way these nets are put together a single section rip forms a giant hole rendering the net completely useless. I'm adding a picture so you can have a visual of what I mean.

Rated 5 out of 5 by maaj22 from Good Hay Net I needed hay nets that had holes smaller than 2" - talk about a hard find! I tried a couple of these and they've worked really well. Used with 4 different horses daily (all hay fed via hay nets). I have 2 horses that are pretty easy on hay nets, and these would probably last years with them. The other 2 are harder on hay nets. With cheaper nets, they usually tear through them within a couple of days. These ones, however, have lasted a couple months before holes have started to appear. I love that the rope at the top for closure is strong, as I find with most hay nets they are so thin that they break easily - not the case with these! I've noticed the ones that sit out in direct sunlight seem to fray faster than the ones that are hung in shade (the shelter or stalls). I also feed hay that is cut more like round bales and these hay nets can fit up to 13lbs per hay net of that hay (cut longer than small square bales). Will continue to buy these hay nets.

Unfortunately this hay net didn’t even last 4 days. I have cheap Shires brand ones that I have had for years that maybe have a tiny hole in them but I was really disappointed in this. Hopefully this is a rare thing?

Rated 1 out of 5 by Patriot from Not wide enough Got this net since it was far cheaper than Shires' slow feed net, have to say, even for half the price this hay net is disappointing. My biggest thing is it is hard to fill, it does not fit over a bale without a fight and just is not wide enough. The draw string is absurdly long, that's another thing. the material is very flimsy which also makes it even harder to fill. Pretty much if you don't have a bin to put this net over to fill, forget it. No damage yet though I haven't used this net much since I also got a Shires' slow feed net at the same time as this one so I just use the Shires' net since it's far superior. Overall, I didn't expect this net to be my favorite, but even so I'm disappointed in it and would not recommend it. At the very least this net should be wide enough to fit over a bale and to make filling it easier. If it was wider and not so flimsy it might be a decent net, it's just so hard to fill as it is right now.
