Runs small
My gelding is 1200lbs and consistently wears a size 75-76" blanket. In accordance with the sizing guide, I purchased a medium. It was definitely too small, both in the neck and the piece that went between the front legs. Quality seems good otherwise!
This year he's had some immune system difficulties which have resulted in skin problems we've never had with him before, including his withers suddenly becoming raw and rubbed from a blanket he's worn for years, so I don't have time to wait for an exchange. We'll be returning and purchasing the larger size.

Very disappointed in fit and quality.
Bought the size Large for my gelding that wears a size 76 blanket, and it is way too tight. Because it doesn't fit him, I've only had him wear it overnight a handful of times when his other one is being washed. Already some of the stitching is coming out on the seams and now a prong on the plastic buckle broke, so essentially its unusable.

Not worth it
Save your money and buy a cheaper one elsewhere. Very disappointed in the sizing of this, had to exchange and wait almost a month for my exchange to be processed. Size L was way too tight on my guy's neck (he's a 78/80 in blanket) and he isn't even super thick! Size XL fit him better but then the shoulder guard itself caused rubs on him! Counter productive! - he didn't have rubs at the time from his blanket, but wanted extra security since his heavier blanket sometimes rubs.

Great Quality!
The SmartPak Shoulder Rub Guard was better than I even expected! This shoulder guard is great quality and does the job. Each of my horses wear a shoulder guard under their turnout blankets to help prevent shoulder rubs. Generally, shoulder guards stretch out and wear thin after a couple of seasons of regular use. However, the SmartPak Shoulder Rub Guard seems like great quality and like it will not stretch out as quickly. I found it to fit true to size. However, it does come up the neck a little higher than other brands I have tried, and would recommend sizing up if your horse is between sizes.

Fits well, not very durable
I bought this about a month ago to help address some blanket rubbing issues. It seems to be doing the job there and his hair is growing back along his chest. Fit is good overall. I was a bit worried the large buckle would bother him but so far that's not an issue. However, he did somehow manage to rip the front strap in half about 3 weeks in so I will have to repair that. Disappointed that it got damaged so quickly.
