Instructions for Use:
Thoroughly clean all areas of the frog and sole using a hoof pick and a stiff brush. Use disposable gloves to apply enough product to cover the sole and sulci of the frog to a depth of 1/2 inch.
For shod horses, place hoof down in sawdust to keep hoof packing in place. For barefoot horses, cover sole with paper or plastic, then cover entire hoof with self-adhering wrap. Replace every 24-48 hours until condition improves.
For use under shoes and pads, apply product prior to nailing or gluing on pads and shoes.
Excess product may be removed with isopropyl alcohol.

great for those living in muddy/yucky paddocks
My horse developed a hell of an abscess under her frog, and with her living in a mudpit(New England, pure mud from November to April) it seemed inevitable that she would develop more. When my farrier came to help with the abscess, she recommended Magic Cushion. I pack her hoof crevices/frog on days that it is bound to be especially muddy and it has really made a difference in the condition of her hoof! And it stays in there 24-48 hours! People complain about how sticky it is, but if it was any less sticky it wouldn't stay put as well.

Great for navicular horses!
Love using this with my navicular gelding, Really make his feet feel good. Also helps with t thrush treatment and keeping mud out for awhile. Only thing I don't like is if you have a horse with deeper pocket of hoof to really pack it in there, falls right out. Just hate using vet wrap to make sure it stays in on the flatter bottom horse hooves.

Might really be Magic!
I have recently started using this product on my 31 year old OTTB who has very thin soles and has been getting sore. I started using Magic Cushion on all four feet. He has shoes on front and barefoot on the hind. I pack his feet with MC then smoosh some shavings onto it and voila! I have actually had the product stay on for as long as a week. (Of course, we're not galloping and jumping, but he still has his kicks!) He is much more comfortable and I am relieved that I've had success without messy wraps, bandages or boots, which inevitably end up torn, sideways or off entirely, only to be found sitting forlornly in the middle of the paddock.

A Must-Have in the Tack Trunk
My older guy is prone to sore soles, and this product is my go-to for packing his feet when needed. It is highly recommended by his farrier as well!
Using this can be a little bit of a learning curve, so I thought I'd share some of my favorite tips. First, use a hoof pick to pry open the lid and make sure you close it tightly after - you don't want this stuff to dry out. Secondly, you'll definitely want gloves, because it is very sticky! If you get some on you, or your horse (which I inevitably do), rubbing alcohol or wipes can help with removal. I use about a palm size ball for my 16 hand horse's average size feet. You might have to adjust this a bit based on your horse's hooves. Spread a thin even layer across the whole sole, then top with craft paper (shavings bags work great!). I usually put a diaper on top of that, and wrap the whole foot in vet wrap on top. If he's going back out, I'll put a hoof boot over the whole thing to protect it.
This product really seems to help my gelding to stay comfortable, and so I always keep it on hand as a part of my first aid kit. I highly recommend this product to anyone dealing with sore soles, or those wanting to be proactive after hard work. This is by far the best hoof packing I've used!

Hoof packing that does a great job
Just got this hoof pack a few weeks ago and have used it several times in my mare. I use my hoof pick to open the container.. it is a little tricky, but obviously needs to be that way to stay sealed properly. The product itself is nice and sticky — you absolutely need gloves! I love that I can just pat some shavings on or lower my horse’s hoof in her stall and it packs the product in place. No wrapping! It seems to do a great job of drawing out heat and providing hoof comfort. Vaseline works great for removal if you get it on your horse’s coat or rubbing alcohol if on your hand. Rubbing a little Vaseline around the edge of the bucket makes opening later a little easier.

Great hoof packing!
I have used this product for a few years now. It’s great for preventative care after jumping or rocky trail rides. Great for sore soles and/ or bruises. It’s very sticky. Smells great!!

Be Careful
I now will only use this product during the day under supervision. This product will eat through vet wrap and then burn your horse and create welts. If she laid down overnight with this product she would get almost like hoof boils. There are easier products to use that work well too!
