Why We Love This
Lighthoof Mud Management Panels eliminate mud by supporting a layer of compacted gravel for your horse to walk on. The uniquely flexible properties of the Lighthoof cells are able to handle bumps, posts, slopes, and undulations without sinking or sagging. Every panel covers a 6' x 12' area, and 40 zip-tie connectors are included with every panel to join them at the seams for larger areas. Conversely, the panels are able to be trimmed with scissors for a perfect fit. Sized to line up with standard 12 × 12 stalls, Lighthoof is a great way to prevent mud or erosion outside stall doors and in stall runs. Heavy use dry lots and paddock areas benefit the most from Lighthoof's ground support abilities. The panels are also great for in-gate areas and hold up to trucks and tractors as well as hoof traffic.

Gravel selection is key to the success of your Lighthoof project. Lighthoof requires a small, angular crushed stone with fines which compacts well. Ideal gravel is 3/8" minus (1/4" - 1/2" minus is appropriate). DO NOT USE SAND OR PEA GRAVEL. For a standard installation 1.5 - 1.75 cubic yards of gravel is required per panel.

Amazing Product - Couldn't be More Pleased
Let's just say, I started out purchasing 2 panels to give the product a test drive. WOW it is a game changer with mud management. Needless to say expanstion of this product into other areas up at my barn has continued. Every time we get rain and pastures get muddy I am so thankful I have my "landing pad" as I call it for them .. .and that is exactly where they hang out. Great investment you won't regret.

Great Support and Great Product!
When redoing our barn, I was looking at different products. However, Light hoof was the only products which provided in-depth information , installation instructions, videos, types of gravel to use, etc. I kept referring to the wealth of knowledge they provided regarding their product. I was even able to talk to a live person to discuss my particular situation and types of gravel I had access to. All of my questions were answered before I ordered 10 panels. We got them installed and are very happy with the outcome.

Great system!

No more mud scratches!
I have a boarding barn in upstate NY and I have done all of my winter paddocks with Lighthoof. It has been life changing. We no longer need tall rubber boots when catching horses and no more long hours cleaning legs at the wash rack.

It works!
We purchased these to use right outside our run in sheds where it got sloppy muddy every year. After years of just using different forms of gravel only to have it eaten by the mud and be right back I found these and they have worked amazingly well helping the material in place and keeping the entrance to the run ins mud free! No more slop and no more buying dump truck after dump truck load of gravel.

Great all weather panels
I used Lighthoof panels for my stall runs. They have made sure that the runs are truly all weather. My husband and I installed them ourselves without ground prep. One of the best decisions I made for my backyard farm.

Behind the barn
I bough the LIghthoof system this past spring and installed last month behind my barn. The area had eroded terribly over the years and we were able to fill in the area back to its original footing. With 3 Dutch doors opening to this area from behind the barn, the horses are able to walk out to a level area and no longer a dropped area. I absolutely love that this system filled and fixed this area which is approximately 12’ x 38’. Obviously a larger area and fully filled and covered !!

No more muddy hooves!
These panels have been the best addition to my paddock. We started off with 5 panels for an extremely muddy area right outside the overhang to my barn, and since then, we’ve taken advantage anytime they have a sale and have ordered more. As once you have some installed, you’ll quickly wish your entire paddock is covered in them! They really are well worth every penny. Our biggest challenge with them was finding the correct stone that they tell you to fill the cells with. None of our local landscaping places carried it. However, the customer service is excellent and quickly got back to us with helpful information that we were then able to show the landscaping company who was able to mix a couple of their products to get us something that would work. And it has! I was afraid they wouldn’t work as well without the exact stone, but they really do work amazing. I tell everyone about them anytime someone is looking for mud control in their paddocks. Once my husband and I figured out and installed the first panel, the rest of them went super quick, too. Great product!!

Game Changer for mud
I have 40+ panels down so far and going on my 3rd winter with them in the muddy Pacific Northwest. My horse’s paddock and track are the only areas without standing water when there’s a big storm— they’re amazing! And indestructible. Follow the instructions with installing them and they will change your entire barn.
