Hoof Guard seals nail holes and small cracks in the hoof wall preventing harmful bacteria from entering. Hoof Guard keeps in natural moisture helping to prevent dry brittle hooves. Added UV protection guards against bleaching and surface cracks. formulated with high impact Aramid Fiber similarly used in bullet proof vests strengthens the hoof and helps to prevent quarter cracks and under slung heels.

Application: IMPORTANT – Shake Well to get full benefit of fiber. The hoof should be free of dirt and other contaminants. Apply sealant as needed with large brush avoiding coronary band. Easy one coat application. For brighter and shinier hoofs, wait approximately 1 minute then apply second coat.

High impact Aramid Fiber and 200% denatured alcohol (ethanol) as a drying agent. This product does not contain any acetone.

Instructions

Instructions for Use:

Shake well. Hooves should be free of dirt and other contaminants. Apply sealant as needed with brush, avoiding coronary band.

If using to shine the hoof, wait approximately one minute after application and apply second coat.

I have been using this for a little over a year for my TB with very fragile, chippy white feet and thin walls that I refuse to put shoes on. Ever since using this, the cracking has almost completely gone away, and the quality of his hoof walls has improved dramatically. I wish I had taken before and after pictures, because the improvement is almost unbelievable. Other topical products didn't work and I tried many of them. This product really is different than others. I highly recommend this product to everyone who has a horse prone to cracked hoof walls. The fibers in the liquid really do fill in the cracks and improve hoof quality. And another benefit is this product stays the same easy-to-apply consistency in the hot humid summer heat and the frigid winter nights!

The constantly wet conditions really took their toll on his already fragile feet, and he repeatedly threw his shoes and ripped off chunks of hoof in the process. I have been using this sealant every time I get out to the barn for a few months now, and the difference is amazing! This stuff really works to keep moisture out and strengthen the hoof wall! Farrier-approved, too, as I got an enthusiastic "keep doing whatever you're doing" from him on our last three shoeings! Highly recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by maaj23 from Best Sealant on the Market! I bought this to use on a rescue horse I'm fostering. She's got glue holding one of her hooves together. We were having a hard time getting the glue to stay set, so the farrier recommended buying this stuff. It's amazing! In 4 months we haven't had to redo the glue at all. The horse has been able to be out in some damp footing with no issues whereas before using the sealant, even just damp footing would damage the seal on the glue. I also notice on my other horses that are shod their feet are looking better if I use this product on them. Will buy this product again and again!

I’ve shared with a friend and her horse’s hoofs are much healthier as well. I hope to see Smart Pak add the sister product Kera Prep to their line up of great products. Kera Prep fixed my elderly pasture mare’s soles with just a few uses. I have continued using it just to keep my old gal’s feet healthy.

Its hard to tell if it actually does strengthen the wall but so far my senior gelding that usually gets splits hasn't had any since I started using it.

For the first time in years her hooves stared to crack on edges weeks before farrier visit. The farrier suggested Kevlar so that hooves won't be losing moisture as much. I've been using for the past 3 weeks, applying 2x a week, and there is definitely a big difference. No more web cracks on edges.

Rated 5 out of 5 by NasusGag from Excellent For Brittle Feet I have been using this on my OTTB for about 3 months. His feet tend to crack at the nail holes. I make sure it’s applied right after shoeing and about every third day there after. It really is a great help! I use it in conjunction with Keratex Hoof Hardner and of course a good hoof supplement. It does the trick! Shoes are staying on. It does have a strong chemical smell if that’s a problem for you.
