A little messy but works well!
I bought this to give to my mare the night before a long trailer ride and she stayed happy and hydrated. It is a large volume so was a little messy to give, but got the job done!

Perfect for on-the-go
I've never purchased electrolytes in a paste before, but they worked great. Instead of using a powder and hoping my horse would eat it, I could just give him the paste and not worry about it. I will definitely be bringing these with me on the road from now on!

Contains calcium as well as easy to administer
Some “ electrolytes “ do not contain Calcium. The calcium is beneficial to treat hiccups

Love
Helps Keep my horse hydrated during the hot, hot summers. Great bang for your buck! Horse doesn’t LOVE the paste, but also doesn’t hate it so that’s a win in my book.

Best electrolyte paste that I’ve used
I’ve tried a dozen different types of electrolyte pastes and I’ve found this one works the best. I use them when at shows and it really does encourage my horse to drink more water than other brands. I use one tube as one dose and give two tubes a day when at shows. (2 doses a day) and it works great. The price is competitive with other brands and what makes this one a steal are the bogo deals SmartPak has occasionally! I won’t use any other paste.

Easy to use
I have not had the reason to try this yet. I have it in my first aid bag in my trailer just in case.

Super convenient.
My horse will not eat electrolytes that I put on her food. This was so easy and convenient. Wish I would have bought more when they were on sale.

Bioavailability? Vegetable oil lax effect?
"I have been using electrolytes for distance riding for years. I decided to try this one because I was looking for a more palatable electrolyte for my picky horse. She seemed to like it so I used it at the next ride. She colicked for the first time in her life during the ride. I can never say for sure the electrolyte contributed to colic but it was the only thing that was different. Her calcium became low and she had been defecating more than normal after the electrolyte. She recovered after treatment in the ICU. Smart packs did honor their happiness guarantee when I expressed my concerns and reported the incident to the NASC. This supplement may be completely adequate for normal riding conditions but I would use caution with intense work such as fast paced 50 mile rides.
