Liz Schatz, DVM

Dr. Liz Schatz is a dedicated and accomplished equine veterinarian with extensive experience in equine medicine, surgery, and emergency care. A lifelong horsewoman, Dr. Schatz is a graduate of Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine, where she was honored with the Glenn Ray Teagarden Award for Proficiency in Equine Medicine.
Following her graduation, Dr. Schatz pursued an equine surgery internship at the New Jersey Equine Clinic, further refining her surgical skills. She continued her advanced training with a specialized internship in Large Animal Medicine, Surgery, and Emergency/Critical Care at the University of Pennsylvania’s prestigious New Bolton Center. Dr. Schatz then completed a fellowship at the Comparative Orthopedic Research Laboratory while providing emergency services for the New Bolton Center Field Service.
Dr. Schatz's diverse clinical background includes practicing as an ambulatory mixed animal veterinarian at Rancocas Veterinary Associates in Mount Laurel, NJ, and serving as a shelter veterinarian at the Animal Welfare Association in Voorhees, NJ.
A passionate advocate for Thoroughbred aftercare, Dr. Schatz actively volunteers with organizations such as MidAtlantic Horse Rescue and CANTER Pennsylvania, helping to provide care and second careers for off-the-track Thoroughbreds (OTTBs). In addition to her professional endeavors, she is an avid hunter/jumper rider and operates a horse farm in central North Carolina, where she cares for her own OTTBs and any number of beloved vagabond animals.
