Jog style icon, Thoroughbred enthusiast, 5* international three day event rider; Jennie Brannigan wears a lot of hats, but our personal favorite is Team SmartPak Rider. Since she was 13 years old, Jennie knew she loved Eventing and she's made it all the way from pony kid to Team and Individual Gold Medal Winner at the 2008 FEI North American Youth Championships (NAYC) and most recently the the best first timer award at Burghley CCI5*. - What's the best advice you've ever been given?
- "In 2010 I moved to Pennsylvania to train under Phillip Dutton and I'll never forget that he's the one who told me: 'Don't let any one moment define you'. Some rides will be great, some rides will be challenging, and it's all of those rides that have made me the rider and horsewoman I am."
- What's your favorite advice to give to young riders?
- "Buy the horse with a big heart, it doesn't have to be an expensive horse. You can't ride a bill of sale, you can't ride X-rays, but you can do a lot with heart."
- What's your proudest moment in the saddle so far?
- "Oh that's an easy one. Being on board Comic [aka Twilightslastgleam, a 14yo Thoroughbred gelding bred by Nina and Tim Gardner] at the end of the Land Rover Kentucky 3 Day Event last spring. He was so proud of himself, and really showed everyone how having a horse with heart can take you so far.
