I wish they’d do something about the taste/smell
I thought the product was good but difficult to use because of the taste. I have 2 horses, that I never considered picky eaters, but when I added to their feed, they would both walk away from it. Mixing it with something else to help hide the taste was not convenient. Especially at 2 or 3 day shows/events.

Great Calming Supplement
I have been using this supplement for years and find it really helps my high energy sensitive horses.

This stuff really works!
I have an extremely anxious OTTB who benefits from this tremendously! I wish I thought if using this product sooner (it’s been 2.5 years of ownership!). I saw immediate results with just 2 scoops once a day and will begin to see if I can drop to 1 scoop once a day. I REALLY wish smartpak had the pellet version as I have switch to that and order direct from PP now. Horse at the powder, it’s just messy!

Great product!
Excellent choice for a horse on stall rest that needs to chill a little. Picky eater approved as well!

Not palatable, effects are questionable
I have used the Perfect Prep calming paste before with great results, but unfortunately I was disappointed by this supplement. My horse tries very hard not to eat it, and even when I hand feed it to him, the effects are negligible. He has been more anxious since starting this supplement than in the past year. Maybe just the weather, but the supplement certainly isn't helping much. Stick with the paste, save your money!

It ACTUALLY works!
I have an anxious OTTB who was Chicken Little in a past life (help! the sky is falling!) This supplement has greatly reduced his anxiety. He is more focused and relaxed during our rides and less concerned the boogie man is hiding behind the jumps in the corner of the ring. His overall demeanor in the barn has changed too, he is walking the stall less and also weaving less. He did not have any issues with the palatability of this product, however he also eats pizza and Pop Tarts so he's probably not the target audience for that research. I also wet his food so it sticks. The smell is different but again didn't seem to concern my horse too much. The supplement is also green, and will stain your hands. I have tried several other supplements for this horse including MVP magnesium, Leg Up Calm, SmartCalm, ViaCalm, and Quiessence. I have seen notable improvement on this supplement. I love everything about it except the price but who needs a 401K anyways.

A Supplement That ACTUALLY WORKS
I am super skeptical about "calming" type supplements and I'm a big believer that training is at the pinnacle of solving behavioral issues. However, I recently got a new Dutch warmblood trained through FEI dressage who sees ghosts on one side of the arena and has seen them for months. I think it started out as a legitimate spook and has now just turned into a behavioral issue (ie. "This is the spot I'm supposed to spook at"). He's naturally a very sensitive and alert horse who gets himself worked up really easily. This was recommended by a friend and I decided to try it. Within the first day of giving this, all spookiness DISAPPEARED. Literally overnight. I've had spook-free rides for over a week now and feel like I can finally focus on more advanced training and less on baby-sitting my horse. My only criticism is that it's pretty expensive. It's worth a try, especially for anxiety-prone horses.

No longer effective
Purchased Training Day Perfect Prep for my mentally unstable pony when I first acquired him a couple of years ago, and gave this product rave reviews. Stopped using it for over a year, due to expense. Went back to it, as the results had been remarkably positive in the beginning. That is no longer the case. Don't know if they have changed the ingredients, or if the pony's chemistry/physiology has changed in some way to make it ineffective, but it no longer has any impact on his spooky behavior. Would like to talk with manufacturer about this change in effectiveness. Would still suggest others give it a try, as it was effective once!

I was really hoing this would work
I was really looking forward to trying this for my mare based on all the good things I had heard about it working on difficult horses. She wouldn't touch it, so I added molasses, and she would try a bite and stop. It has a really strong fake apple smell. The scoop is pretty large, so feeding two scoops AM and PM was a lot. It's bright green, and when it gets damp, it stains everything it touches green. I syringed it into my mare's mouth for two weeks twice a day, hoping to see any improvement, but there was no change at all for my mare. Even if it worked, I would worry that it might stain my show clothes or tack.
