Purchasing Assistant

Responsibilities include:

  • Send purchase orders to suppliers and follow up with the suppliers if products have not arrived by expected date
  • Fax/E-Mail Purchase Orders and/or Drop Ship Orders to suppliers
  • Confirm Purchase Orders and/or Drop Ship Orders (expected delivery date and prices)
  • Investigate invoicing and pricing discrepancies and complete competitive pricing analysis
  • Track new products to ensure that they are delivered prior to catalog drops
  • Assist in related administrative and accounting functions
  • Answer customer calls as needed during peak season
  • Work on various special projects as they arise
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
  • Completed Bachelor Degree, preferably with an Equine background and GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Self motivated and self disciplined
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to multi-task
  • A person who thrives in a fast-paced environment and works well under deadline pressure
